United Way

Sara Lee is proud of its strong partnership with United Way throughout the United States. We salute all Sara Lee facilities that continue to run effective campaigns in their communities. Campaigns are conducted at our global corporate headquarters in Downers Grove, IL and currently at more than 25 facilities nationally, engaging with thousands of employees in making personal contributions to support essential programs and services in their local communities.

Sara Lee’s annual United Way campaigns provide an important opportunity to:

• educate employees about issues affecting their communities;
• demonstrate United Way’s efforts in addressing pressing needs while also strengthening and improving communities; and
• support Sara Lee facilities to ensure local campaigns are effective and engage with our employees' generous spirit to help others.

Sara Lee provides United Way Incentive Grants to the local United Way when campaigns are conducted at Sara Lee facilities. The amount of the United Way Incentive Grant is based upon the total amount contributed by Sara Lee employees at the facility.  (NOTE: Local United Ways are not eligible to apply to Sara Lee using the Letters of Intent feature of this website.) The local United Ways who have assisted Sara Lee facilities must utilize the United Way Incentive Grant online application feature of this website to report campaign results and apply for the Incentive Grant.
